Aga Demonstrations and Courses

Fran also works for AGA as an authorised Aga-Rayburn demonstrator. Please look at the Diary to see at which retail outlets she will be working.

It is also possible to have Aga lessons in your own kitchen or in Fran’s.  If you are new to Aga a three to four hour lesson may benefit you and help you to get to grips with adapting to cooking the ‘Aga way’. Please call or email for further details.

A common problem heard from Aga owners is that they have trouble making an ordinary sponge cake.  In a three or four oven Aga there is, of course, the Baking Oven.  In a two oven Aga cakes are cooked in the Roasting Oven using a cold plain shelf two runners from the top of the oven, which protects the cake from the fierce heat at the top.  When cooking a cake in two tins the cake in the tin at the back of the oven is likely to cook faster and it is a good idea to switch the tins round 5 minutes before the cooking time is completed.  This will only take 25 minutes – so be sure to set a timer.  See the Recipe page for a quick and easy sponge cake.
